Jennifer Freeman is a communications professional and environmental advocate. She has helped leading environmental groups and other organizations advance their goals. 

As a parent Jennifer founded the District 3 Green Schools Group, which helped promote sustainability in public schools on New York City’s Upper West Side. 

At Environmental Defense Fund, she creates grant reports and proposals that support critical work helping people and our planet thrive. 

Jennifer grew up in Palo Alto and Baltimore, studied Chinese at Harvard, and received an MBA from Columbia University. Before becoming a science writer, she worked for ten years as a business consultant and industry analyst, and lived and traveled in China.
